I've decided that the main purpose for my table is going to be supporting a Canadian Native Reservation that I've been friends with for a few years. The church that I attend located at College and Dufferin has been going to this reserve for the past 7 years and I am pleased to use the proceeds and donations from my table for this summer's trip to the reserve. The reservation is called Constance Lake and is located approx 900km north of Toronto. At my table, I will have various original artworks that I and a few of my friends have done, original music also from my friends, and on the spot characature and portrait drawings. The website link is my blog where you can see some of my artwork.

franco dance
Franco Dance

1222A Bloor Street West
(416) 538-7777
Workshop: Melinda Franco Deines
INTRODUCTION TO FLAMENCO: Learn the essential elements of this earthy, powerful Spanish Gypsy dance.  Defined by rhythmic clapping and footwork, arched arms and delicate hand movements, flamenco is more than just a dance: it is the heart of a unique culture.  (depending on how this workshop is going to be set up, this could be a 2 hour one-time class, or it could go for several days)  Participants should wear hard soled, medium heeled shoes, and women should wear a loose, preferably long skirt.
AUTHENTIC FLAMENCO STYLING FOR PASO DOBLE: Add the touch of authenticity to your Paso Doble with a dash of flamenco. The focus will be on how to maximize hand movements, body and arms shape, how to sharpen lines and have the look of a real bullfighter. These elements will be added to some simple Paso Doble steps. (again, depending on what kind of dancers you expect, this workshop could really ideally be for professionals and dancers who are already at a very high level. I would suggest making it a 2 hour maximum one-time class).

Workshop: Edgar Franco
Edgar’s idea of a workshop, is to liberate the dancer inside each and every participant. His unique style, which focuses equally on FUN and ACHIEVEMENT, is the culmination of his worldwide studies. From Ecuador he brings the exuberant free style of street dancing; from Argentina, the passion of the tango; from Australia, the value of hard work; from South East Asia, simplicity and patience as both teacher and student; and from Europe, technique and discipline. Edgar brings all these elements together, offering students the room to grow at their own pace, and offering challenges as soon as the student steps on the floor.
