Metrolinx wants to build a raised expressway for trains through the heart of our community. The plan is for a "superbridge" between Davenport and Bloor, along GO's Barrie corridor. It will be over 1.5 km long, three stories high at its peak, and wide enough to carry up to three diesel GO trains, as Metrolinx prepares to expand to all-day, both-way GO train service on this line. This plan is being quickly pushed through without any real options having been presented to the community, or any serious consideration for how such a massive structure towering over our neighbourhoods will impact upon quality of life for those who call this community home. We are a group of local volunteers, who have come together over this issue because we love this community and believe we deserve better. We are here to raise awareness about this, so that we can collectively demand better options that benefit our community, too.

"MUSK RAT LOVE RETURNS" addresses ‘the people’ and how they activate their place in world. One of the ways I try to achieve this is by creating a mythological/metaphorical tribe of Travellers, who are convoyed by sky, land and water-going, vessel-like sculptures, made with found materials that reflect aboriginal teachings about reuse and recycling. My project for the BIG festival will include a gift exchange and a reiteration of a10 foot pirate space ship/futuristic canoe, (made on site during the 2-day event) which suggests the possibility of flying at warp speed through a Mad Max universe of cultural delusion.

Bureau for Life Complaints DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM? You know you do. Teenagers are famously complex and emotionally unstable. Their limbic systems are on overdrive, their hormones are running amok; they're prone to staying up late, sleeping well past noon and taking crazy risks. It's no accident. Scientists believe that teen brains are particularly alive, active and sensitive. Their behaviour is an evolutionary feature: it's how teens define and distinguish themselves; it's how they get things done. Teen brains are fast, risking-taking blobs that make creative and sometimes bizarre leaps and associations, giving them an adaptive edge. This is a scientific fact. We invite you to submit your problems one-on-one to a panel of teens who’ll apply their expertise in all things about life.
