The BIG on Bloor Festival features a weekend street closure and site-based activations for a week after, with 100,000+ visitors participating in multidisciplinary art projects, presented by over 100 local artists from various backgrounds, identities and groups. Activities included communal quilt making, large-scale sculptures, interactive flash mirror environments, Japanese lantern making and so much more! Celebrating small businesses, arts and culture, we truly miss engaging with our vendors and the thousands of supports we would usually see on mass, in-person.
2020 was our first year reformating for a 24/7, month long art projects in satelittle locations scattered throughout Bloordale, released on a weekly basis. Many lessons were learned presenting an alternative festival, but BIG on Bloor was Toronto's ONLY physically produced festival presented in a safe, healthy, socially distanced manner.
